Okay but me specifically?

Hello! I’m Tristan and I’m an artist, writer, cyber security student, and zine librarian. I grew up in Shetland and I feel strongly about my home. I am currently attempting to befriend my neighbour’s skittish cat.

Where else can you find my work?

You can find my work on my GitHub page and on Gaada’s online shop. You can find my science fiction, fantasy, and horror reviews in the BSFA Review, currently edited by Ruth Watkin. You are also welcome to email me if you have questions about anything more specific.

How should you support me?

If you simply must use like money enters my account means, you are welcome to buy my physical work from Gaada. 50% goes towards the workshop and my 50% is reinvested back into making cool things. I make my things in the workshop so 100% benefits me in some form.

If you would like to just support me in general, send me your weird essays to read, let me know when things I might like are on sale, send me albums on Bandcamp, and send me zines.

But, more than anything, donate to whoever maintains that free program you can’t live without.

Why the name Root Directory?

Root Directory is my second attempt at a personal website. The previous one was called Rooted Notes but I grew out of it. Root Directory is thus both a reference to that and a joke about how I am disproportionately offended by switching folders to make an Obsidia note. You literally cannot navigate Root Directory by folder because almost every page is in the same one.
